Christian Outreach

The Mission Team plans a programme each year to raise awareness concerning mission work at home and overseas. These have included a Cambodian evening for the Harvest Festival, barn dances, a fellowship evening with a meal for people outside the Church, and other social events.

The Mission Team deliver prayer leaflets to every house in Wootton Bassett, informing the residents that the Church Family would be praying for them during a particular week. Many responses have been received requesting specific prayers for them or their families. The Team aim to deliver a Church Welcome Pack to every house that is sold in Wootton Bassett.

The Church has also run several ALPHA courses. These have been well attended and spiritually challenging. Courses have been held in the evenings, coffee time and lunch time. A Youth Alpha course has also been held.

The Church rejoices in numbering ten local preachers among its membership. They meet regularly with the minister for fellowship, and to share and discuss ideas for services, including 'Preaching on a theme'.

The Church received teaching and ministry from the members of the Share Jesus Team during August 1998. There were several House Groups held during the week and the Beta Bible Study group resulted in maintaining this important part of God's continuing Ministry among us today.

During 1998, the Churches in Wootton Bassett had a time of reflection, to seek God's vision for their way forward. It is in some ways a time of sadness because the ecumenical work of the Churches is not as strong as it once was. However, we all firmly believe that God will give us a new way forward through which, together, we can witness to the people of the town.

Our minister is also responsible for the village Chapels in Braydon and Purton Stoke, which are part of the Upper Thames Circuit formed in 1996.

We give thank to God for all that He has done and we confidently look forward to what He is going to do as we move into the challenges of a new Millennium.

"Praise God from whom all Blessings flow!"
